SAN DIEGO—Global engineering firm Syska Hennessy Group says that associate partner Sean Marcel has transferred to the firm's San Diego office from New York to help lead project management development for the San Diego team.

Marcel brings broad engineering and commissioning experience to his new role in San Diego and will be responsible for providing hands-on project management, as well as technical direction and guidance, for both Southern California regional and national projects.

His arrival comes on the heels of the San Diego office's recent growth, which includes an expansion of its services combined with several new personnel additions to the team. Marcel joins senior principal, John Passanante who assumed the site leader role for the San Diego office in 2014.

"With the recent increase in our services and reinforcement of our overall team, Sean is joining the San Diego office at an exciting time," said Passanante. "His expertise will be critical for the development of our project pipeline and gives us what we need to continue to compete in the national and local engineering space."

These recent leadership additions are designed to build on the success of the Syska San Diego location and accelerate the development and execution of its future growth initiatives.
The San Diego market is primed for growth as local project demand in a number of sectors continues to climb. Syska Hennessy's San Diego office has been recently selected to work on a number of projects; the San Diego County Central Animal Shelter Medical Laboratory Facilities Upgrade; San Diego
County Housing and Community Development
Renovation; Lankford Mixed Use Development Makers Quarter, Block D; University of California San Diego Argo and Blake Halls Electrical Service Upgrade; and Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Data Assessment and Master Plan.
The Syska Hennessy team is positioned to take advantage of these opportunities, and Marcel will contribute to the growth of technical leadership and development of the San Diego office in support of their clients.

"The strength of our San Diego office lies in our diverse knowledge base and ability to offer a variety of services to our clients, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Technology (MEPT), commissioning, lighting design, high performance solutions and others," said Marcel. "We can offer what no other regional firm can and have an aggressive road map in place to continue to increase our project work, realize operational efficiencies and grow the San Diego office. I'm excited to jump on board."
