MIAMI—Hilton Worldwide is opening the first-ever Hampton Inn in South Beach. Located at 17th Street, the new property is a 69-room hotel located at 1700 Collins Avenue. Claremont Partner LLC-Beacon IMG will manage the hotel.
Located just steps away from the beach and three blocks from the Miami Beach Convention Center, Hampton Inn by Hilton Miami South Beach – 17th Street also puts visitors near the Jackie Gleason Theater, the New World Symphony Park, Famous Lincoln Road and Jungle Island.
“We're excited to provide guests with the option to explore the local culture of the ever-evolving Miami scene,” says Phil Cordell, global head of focused service and Hampton by Hilton brand management for Hilton. “Our brand's expansion into the vibrant South Beach neighborhood is a nod to the business and tourism growth of the area, and we are certain our future guests will be impressed with the service, amenities and convenient location this particular hotel provides.”
Hotel amenities include free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour business center with complimentary printing, Lobby bar, and a rooftop pool. The hotel also provides free breakfast
“Both business and leisure travelers will enjoy our hotel's valuable amenities and friendly service,” says Mitchell Bermudez, the hotel's general manager. “Those traveling on business will be able to make use of our business center amenities, and the proximity to the Miami Beach Convention Center, yet be able to take the time to enjoy our rooftop pool and access to Miami's beautiful white sand beaches.”
The new hotel features the Perfect Mix Lobby, designed as an extension of the guestroom with seating and lighting options for both leisure and business travelers. Guestrooms are equipped with the brand's signature Clean and fresh Hampton bed, LCD TV, coffeemaker, iron with ironing board and free in-room movie channel.
Miami is also seeing plenty of traction on the hotel investment front. In July, Carey Watermark Investors just bought majority interest in The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Carey acquired the hotel in a joint venture with RCFL Holdco, an affiliate of Gencom. That is just one of many recent examples.
"We are seeing boutique and luxury hotel brands looking to build a presence in markets like Brickell and Midtown,” Karyl Argamasilla, an attorney in Bilzin Sumberg's Real Estate Group, tells GlobeSt.com. “Add to that, the investor appetite for well-positioned hotel properties in Miami Beach's hotel market. We expect hotels to continue to trade at record-setting numbers, as both national and international buyers scout the market for new acquisitions to build a presence in South Florida."
