BETHESDA, MD—Berkeley Point Capital reports that lending industry veteran David Lundin has been named chief underwriter for its FHA lending operations.

Lundin, who has been in mortgage finance for 25 years, will lead Berkeley's efforts to underwrite and close FHA multifamily and healthcare loans nationwide. He is also a HUD-approved underwriter for refinance and construction financing of apartment properties under the MAP program, as well as for healthcare properties under the LEAN program.

“David brings extensive experience providing top level expertise in the HUD programs,” states Mark Van Kirk, executive managing director, Berkeley Point Capital, “he will greatly contribute to our growing team of industry veterans in providing expert service to the firm's clients across all of the HUD programs.”

Prior to joining Berkeley Point Capital, Lundin founded and managed Hampden Park Capital, LLC, a Massachusetts-based HUD approved lender that specializes in non-profit affordable housing. He formerly served in various capacities at CWCapital, LLC, including as the deputy chief underwriter of the firm's national FHA platform and as senior manager of CW's Northeast region. He began his career at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development in Boston, where he was a multifamily housing representative.
