THE WOODLANDS, TX-- Fogo de Chão has signed a lease agreement to open its Brazilian steakhouse at Hughes Landing, a 66-acre mixed-use development.

According to developer The Woodlands Development Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Howard Hughes Corp., this will be the first location in The Woodlands for Fogo de Chão, and the second Houston-area location. The Westheimer location in Houston was the second Fogo de Chão in the U.S., having opened its doors in February 2000.

“We are excited to welcome Fogo de Chão and know its fine dining experience will complement the amazing lineup of upscale eateries in Restaurant Row at Hughes Landing,” says Paul Layne, executive vice president of Master Planned Communities for The Howard Hughes Corp. “Hughes Landing is a dynamic, walkable lifestyle intersection offering retail, restaurants, multifamily residences, class A office space and a future Embassy Suites hotel.”

“Guests have expressed interest in seeing us open a location in The Woodlands for quite some time,” says Larry Johnson, CEO of Fogo de Chão. “The Woodlands is home to a thriving culinary community and is a premier destination in Texas; we are excited to be bringing the tradition and culture of the gaucho way of life to our second Houston-area location.”

Rob Rowe, president of Sierra US is the national broker who represents Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse. Jack Breard, president/partner of UCR, is the co-broker. Rip Reynolds, director of leasing and commercial land for The Howard Hughes Corp., represented The Woodlands Development Co.
