WASHINGTON, DC—First Potomac Realty Trust has tapped HFF to help it accelerate the sale of a number of Northern Virginia properties. It is part of the REIT's move to de-risk its portfolio and reduce corporate overhead, according to CEO Douglas Donatelli. First Potomac has also tapped Sage Capital Advisors to help it monetize its majority stake in a NoMa development site called Storey Park. The site can accommodate up to 712,000 square feet of mixed-use development.

All told the REIT expects to generate proceeds of at least $200 million.

BURTONSVILLE, MD—EDENS plans to redevelop Burtonsville Crossing and the adjacent park-and-ride lot, a grocery-anchored retail strip where the lead anchor Giant, has been dark since 2010. EDENS reached an agreement with Giant to terminate its lease. Last year Montgomery County tapped EDENS to develop the adjacent surface parking lot. The developer is thinking about a mix of uses that will fit in with the overall Burtonsville Village Center Neighborhood Plan put forth by the county at the end of 2012.
