DENVER—A new firm has opened its doors in Denver, specializingin urban infill and redevelopment. RE | Solutions,LLC (RES) is a joint venture between StuartMiner and Mary Hashem, two of the mostwidely-known and respected experts in redevelopment of urban infilland brownfield properties in the United States. The firm officiallybegan operation in May and the founders expect it to quickly becomea national industry leader thanks to their unrivaled expertise andextensive relationship network.

“RES has decades of experience in resolving the transactionaland development challenges posed by environmentally impairedproperties,” said Hashem, co-founder and principal at RES. “Thereisn't a lot of competition in this space because to do it rightrequires a comprehensive and deep understanding of technicalapproaches, regulatory requirements, and risk management optionsfor these types of sites, layered over real estate development andfinance considerations. It requires a lot of specializationand know-how in a range of disciplines that can only be obtainedthrough experience. I don't want to brag, but frankly, no one hasmore breadth and depth of experience than we do.”

Both of RES' founders bring with them sterling reputationswithin the brownfield industry. The two have been a team for morethan a decade, having previously founded BrownfieldPartners in 2003. That firm managed many successfulprojects, both large and small, leading to it being acquired byEnviroFinance Group, LLC (EFG) in January 2011. Aspart of that deal, Miner and Hashem were appointed to seniorleadership roles at EFG, responsible for the management, complianceand project execution of large-scale projects from coast to coast.However, the pair's entrepreneurial spirits eventually drew themback to the start-up environment, resulting in the creation of RE |Solutions.
