HOUSTON--Edifis Group, a Houston-based real estate development and acquisition company with a focus on developing assets in the retail marketplace, has acquired Palmer Plaza, a retail center in Texas City.
“We are seeing a re-focus in communities along the coast with strong ties to the energy industry that is attracting a surge of retailers and grocers to the area, and Palmer Plaza was ideally located in this new expansion,” Josh Aruh, founder of Edifis Group, told GlobeSt.com.
The shopping center, situated next to a new H-E-B grocery store, is located on 8.42 acres and spans 98,000 square feet.
“We feel there is an excellent synergy with the new H-E-B being introduced to the area and an opportunity to redevelop, upgrade, and modernize the center. The improvement of Palmer Plaza's physical presence will prove complementary to the new HEB and the community as well as attracting a new tenant profile,” says Aruh.
The center, located on FM 1764 at State Hwy 146, is positioned along Texas City's main retail avenue; the seller in the acquisition was Weingarten Realty.
“I am committed to investing in communities with a strong workplace population and the new H-E-B marks a positive change in the area,” says Aruh.
