NEW YORK CITY—ALM, parent organization of GlobeSt.com, Real Estate Forum and the RealShare Conference series as well as The National Law Journal and The American Lawyer, has signed a new content licensing agreement with LexisNexis Legal & Professional. Moving beyond the 2011 agreement that established LexisNexis as the exclusive third-party distributor of ALM's online content, the new pact lays the groundwork for expanding the integration of ALM's content within LexisNexis legal research solutions.

While the original agreement included access to news, archives, industry rankings, court verdicts and other ALM information that is otherwise subscriber-only, the new agreement opens up more opportunities for direct integration of ALM content into LexisNexis products. Most immediately, the way ALM content is delivered through LexisNexis® Newsdesk, a market-leading media-monitoring and market intelligence solution, will be streamlined via direct delivery from ALM. That means more convenient and efficient access to more than 3,000 pieces of original news reporting and other content from ALM media brands each month, according to a joint statement from ALM and LexisNexis.

Also included in the agreement is an ALM custom event series providing LexisNexis customers exclusive access to turnkey solutions that bring together law firms and their clients to discuss emerging practice and business challenges informed by ALM industry research and analysis.

"We know that our customers start their day with a scan of ALM legal headlines delivered to their inboxes," says Lenny Izzo, president of Legal Media at ALM. "For LexisNexis customers, this will be a seamless experience to engage with news and instantly link to case law, briefs, and analysis the minute they see a news article relevant to an active case."

At LexisNexis, Sean Fitzpatrick, managing director of North American research solutions, says his company is "committed to providing the very best legal and news content to its customers, so we are excited to take our relationship with ALM to the next level by extending and enhancing how ALM legal journalism is integrated with our industry-leading research solutions and creating new opportunities for firms and their clients to connect around the news and issues driving the practice of law today."

Additional product integrations are underway. These include creating live links to Lexis Advance for case law references within ALM online publications and the availability of a single sign-on solution that will enable customers to enter one name and password to access all of their LexisNexis and ALM content.
