WASHINGTON, DC—BlackRock Realty has tapped Cushman & Wakefield's Richard Tonner, Christopher Getz and James Collins to lease its recently-acquired Downtown office building at 1401 Eye St., NW.

BlackRock acquired the 226,000-square foot Franklin Building, as it is also called, in the summer paying $183.9 million, or $180 per square foot. Shorenstein Realty Services sold the building to BlackRock. It was one of the top office transactions in the District for the third quarter.

There is currently 42,061 square feet in the building.

BlackRock is also using C&W as a property manager. Ben Comm, Dianne Twinam, Bill Grillo, Tom Updike, and Sarah Alt will be overseeing that assignment.
