DALLAS--Westmount Realty Capital has hired Brant Brown as chief financial officer for the company.

Brown brings to Westmount considerable experience leading financial operations and working to safeguard investor interests. Prior to his role as CFO at Westmount, Brown spent more than a decade working with Fortress Private Equity (specifically its mortgage outfit, Nationstar Mortgage), Invesco Real Estate and Ashford Hospitality. Brown began his career working with endowments and large institutional investors at Merit Energy, a private energy company with more than $6 billion in portfolio investments. In total, he was directly involved with or led the financial analysis and governance for more than $30 billion in institutional real estate and fixed income investments.
Brown has also been actively involved with the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries, Urban Land Institute, NAIOP, The Real Estate Council, Financial Executives International, the Texas Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Brown is a CPA and received his M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
