NEW YORK CITY—Perkin Eastman has inked a lease to remain at its prestigious Midtown Fifth Avenue address.

The global international design and architectural firm has renewed its agreement for 77,000 square feet of space at the Winter Organization's 115 Fifth Ave. building. The deal involves Perkins Eastman occupying the entire second, third and sixth floors of the 580,000-square-foot office building.

"We are pleased to be able to stay in the location in which we have thrived for the past 18-years," states L Bradford Perkins, CEO of Perkins Eastman Architects, New York City. "We like the big floor plates and high ceilings the building offers. The layout works well for firms like ours which have large open plan work environments in the coveted Midtown South location."

CBRE Global chairman Stephen Siegel, SVP Harly Stevens and first VP Paul Stimpfle represented Perkins Eastman in the transaction. Perkins Eastman, founded in 1981, has nine offices in the United States and five overseas. The company has completed projects in 46 states and more than 40 countries.

Last week, Dallas-based ForestPerkins announced it would combine practices with Perkins Eastman effective Jan. 1, 2016. The combined practice will enhance the combined companies' market share in the luxury hospitality and residential sectors. The combined international firm will total almost 1,000 employees.

ForrestPerkins will retain its name and continue to focus on interior design and interior architecture for luxury hospitality and high-end multi-residential projects. It will launch a new practice area within the firm under the leadership of ForrestPerkins' president Deborah Lloyd Forrest FASID in collaboration with Perkins Eastman's hospitality practice leader Shawn Basler AIA, the companies states.

ForrestPerkins will open a New York office as of Jan. 1, 2016 as an atelier within the Perkins Eastman office. Early in 2016, ForrestPerkins will relocate to new offices in both Washington, DC, and San Francisco. Perkins Eastman will open a 15th office, its first in Texas, joining ForrestPerkins in its Dallas office at 3131 Turtle Creek.
