MIAMI–Coral Gables just won another coporate headquarters. Quirch Foods, a multinational food distribution company that serves the US, Caribbean and Latin America, just relocated its 155 executive employees to the Miami suburb.
Quirch has leased office space at 2701 South Le Jeune Road in Downtown Coral Gables. The company leased about 30,000 square feet of class A office space at the 15-story office building. Bacardi USA's world headquarters is also located in the building.
What drove Quirch to choose Coral Gables for its new location? The company sites nearness to major transportation hubs and easy access to dining, shopping and entertainment as prime factors.
"Given the company's growth, we felt it was the right time to address our workplace and organizational needs," says Frank Grande, president of Quirch. "The City of Coral Gables was a standout. We are looking forward to contributing to and enjoying all the benefits the city has to offer–from the business community to general lifestyle."
Tere Blanca, president and CEO of Miami-based brokerage and advisory firm Blanca Commercial Real Estate represented Quirch Foods in the deal. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
"Quirch's decision to relocate to Coral Gables reaffirms the city's standing as a vibrant business hub that appeals to many of the world's top multinational brands in the food and beverage industry–home to companies including Bacardi USA, Diageo, Mondelez International, Heineken and Del Monte–all of which have international headquarters here," Blanca, tells GlobeSt.com. "As companies grow, it's natural for their real estate needs to evolve, and that's exactly what Quirch experienced in recent years."
Founded in Miami in 1967, Quirch is one of the country's largest regional and international food distribution enterprises, serving large and independent retailers across the United States, the Caribbean, Central and South America. The family-owned company operates five distribution facilities with a combined 700,000 square feet of refrigerated warehouse space and a fleet of more than 120 trucks servicing its customers, which include independent grocers, big retail chains, food processors, wholesalers, food service companies, restaurants, and hotels.
