TYSONS, VA—Washington REIT's Silverline Center has filled up quickly since its renovation delivered in the second quarter of 2015. The office building at 7900 Westpark Dr., attracted some 261,000-square feet of new leases in the space of a few months, bringing the 532,000-square foot building to 93% occupancy.
A big chunk of that newly-leased floor space -- 137,000 square feet -- is going to Capital One, a deal that was announced last week.
Two other transactions were announced at the end of last week that, while far, far smaller, are bound to catch the attention of Capitol One's employees, as well as everyone else who works there.
The TenPenh restaurant, known for its Asian fusion cuisine during its eleven year run in the District that sadly ended in 2011, will be re-opening its doors at Silverline Center.
Passion Food Hospitality, whose proprietors are chef Jeffs Tunks, David Wizenberg, and Gus DiMillo, has signed a lease for 6,395 square feet at Silverline Center. TenPenh, named for its original location at 10th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, is scheduled to open next year.
Washington REIT also has leased retail space at the building to Bourbon Coffee, an international coffee producer and purveyor. In addition to its coffee, Bourbon Coffee will also offer a breakfast and lunch menu. Bourbon Coffee first opened its doors in Kigali, Rwanda in 2007, and has expanded to eight different locations across Rwanda and the US; the Tysons location will be its ninth when it opens in the spring of 2016.
This is not to say that TenPenh and Bourbon Coffee are the building's only amenities. The building has a high-tech conference center, fitness center and child care center, outdoor terrace and lounge, and a skylit atrium.
And while its glass curtain wall would ordinarily be considered a design element instead of an amenity, this particular curtain wall is illuminated with hundreds of LED lights that can be programmed to display any color scheme. Through the end of the year, the building will put on hourly holiday-themed light shows.
