BETHESDA, MD—Walker & Dunlop is building out its affordable housing finance team with the hire of Brian Jones, a former director at FHA lender, Love Funding. At W&D he will focus on originating affordable multifamily, healthcare, and seniors housing loans out of the company's Cleveland, Ohio office, which scheduled to open on Jan. 4, 2016.

Walker & Dunlop has originated nearly $2 billion of loans on these property types in 2015. It plans to increase volume in that product line with the addition of Jones, it said.

At Love Funding, where Jones originated financing for affordable and market rate projects and healthcare facilities using HUD's RAD program with 9% and 4% LIHTC. Previously, he was the assistant vice president of development at Millennia Housing Development.
