CONSHOHOCKEN, PA—Veteran project manager and design expert Sara Anderson has joined Avison Young as senior project manager. She will focus on managing and delivering a wide range of commercial, institutional and non-profit projects in the Greater Philadelphia region and throughout the expanding Avison Young platform.

"We are very pleased to have Sara join our growing project management team in Philadelphia," says David Fahey, Avison Young principal and managing director. "Her comprehensive project management experience, in-depth industry knowledge and longstanding client relationships are perfectly aligned with our commitment to provide best-in-class services to our valued clients. The addition of Sara further demonstrates Avison Young's commitment to the Philadelphia market, and is another important step in the execution of our company's aggressive growth plan."

Anderson brings to Avison Young more than 25 years of industry experience and has successfully managed the analysis, design and delivery of more than five million square feet of client and tenant improvement space.

Before joining Avison Young, Sara served as a senior project manager for a Philadelphia-based real estate company. In this role, she oversaw the development of an asset strategy for Montgomery County, PA that allowed the county to complete capital improvements to the County Complex, which includes One Montgomery Plaza, the Montgomery County Courthouse, the former County Prison, the Dekalb Street Parking Facility, and the Montgomery County Courthouse Parking Facility. In addition, she managed initial development activities for the Ruby Match Factory facility in Camden, NJ.

Before that, Anderson worked for QVC in West Chester, PA, where she directed the delivery of a "Strategic Branded Environments" program to inform all design decisions related to the renovation of QVC's West Chester properties. She also managed the design for QVC's San Antonio Customer Care center lobby and customer care arena and oversaw the visioning, goal setting, and implementation of workplace surveys establishing future departmental planning and design direction.

Anderson also previously worked for First Niagara Bank. She oversaw the selection and management of all internal and external parties required to design, build, and deliver First Niagara's Eastern PA offices and branch banks including architects, contractors, IT, security, strategic sourcing, furniture dealers, property managers, and signage vendors.

Anderson has been a member of Commercial Real Estate Women Philadelphia for four years and currently serves as the co-chair of the Membership Committee. Anderson is also active on the Advisory Committee for Fresh Artists, a Philadelphia-based organization that recognizes exceptionally talented artists (grades K–12) and collaborates with corporations to help support art education in U.S. public schools.

"The move to Avison Young is a great opportunity to be a part of an emerging and innovative company," says Anderson. "I am excited to be continuing my career with the fastest-growing real estate firm in North America, and working with my new colleagues in the US and Canada. Avison Young's principal-led, client-service model is extremely appealing and will enhance my ability to service my new and existing clients."

Anderson holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts/Interior Design degree from the University of Massachusetts.
