BETHESDA, MD—Scott Melnick, a veteran broker in the local multifamily investment sales market, has joined Berkadia. He will be a senior managing director in Berkadia's local office, reporting to Head of Investment Sales Keith Misner.

The local office will now offer both investment sales and mortgage banking services, Berkadia also reported.

Melnick's "addition immediately strengthens our footprint in the Washington, DC metro area, where we can provide clients with a full suite of integrated mortgage banking, servicing and investment sales services," Misner says in a prepared statement.

Most recently, Melnick was managing director of Jones Lang LaSalle's Mid-Atlantic Multifamily Group for nearly six years. Previously, he was a managing principal of Transwestern's Institutional Multifamily Group for nearly 11 years.

Melnick has been involved in over $5 billion in transactions over the last five years and more than $11 billion in his career.
