LOS ANGELES—At RealShare Los Angeles last week, experts were clear that the L.A. market is on fire, across product types and across submarkets. But, has that success crept north into the San Fernando Valley and Ventura markets, which are more suburban and sprawling than L.A. proper?

At the conference, we caught up with Mike Tingus, a principal and the president of Lee & Associates L.A. North/Ventura, to get his perspective on the vibrant northern territory. In this exclusive interview, Tingus talks residential, retail, industrial and development trends in the market, and the projects and deals that are dominating the space.
