GAITHERSBURG, MD–The National Institutes of Health is taking an additional 92,000 square feet at 9 West Watkins Mill Road, which is located within a science and technology cluster owned by Alexandria Real Estate Equities. The NIH now occupies 227,000 square feet in the cluster with this lease.
NIH's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases will be occupying 9 West Watkins Mill Road.
NIH also leases 135,000 square feet at Alexandria's campus at 9800 Medical Center Drive, in the Shady Grove Life Sciences Center in Rockville. The campus is home to multiple NIH institutes and centers, including the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences.
Alexandria currently holds entitlements for an additional 260,000 RSF at 9800 Medical Center Drive.
