Renaissance West & Lyndale Place: The Habitat Company has added nearly 200 units to its Affordable Housing portfolio with Renaissance West and Lyndale Place, both in Chicago.

CHICAGO—The Habitat Co. recently acquiredRenaissance West and Lyndale Place, two affordable rentalcommunities in Logan Square, one of the city's hottest residentialneighborhoods. In addition, it bought York Terrace Apartments,a market-rate tower near Chicago's Historic Prairie District.

As reported in GlobeSt.com, the Chicago-based firm has beenexpanding its national profile, but also remainscommitted to its hometown, especially the affordablesector, a mainstay of its work for nearly 50 years. Andcompany officials say the Logan Square purchases will help ensurelong-term affordability in an area that has seen a significantincrease in the cost of living.
