NEW YORK CITY—Berkadia has tapped a Fannie Mae veteran as EVPand head of mortgage banking. Hilary Provinse joins Berkadia after15 years with the GSE, where she served most recently as SVP andhead of multifamily customer engagement.

“While at Fannie Mae, I saw Berkadia investing in its people andculture and focusing on innovation, process and technology to growits mortgage banking footprint exponentially to better servecustomers,” says Provinse. “I'm thrilled to have the opportunity tobuild upon that success.”

Provinse will oversee a 130-member team in 31 offices across thecountry and will be a member of Berkadia's management committee.She's reporting to Ernie Katai, Berkadia's EVP and head ofproduction.

During Provinse's time with Fannie, she led the multifamilyproduction team to double its production volume over a four-yearperiod. “We are extremely fortunate to have Hilary join theBerkadia team,” says CEO Justin Wheeler. “With more than 20 yearsof experience and leadership in CRE capital markets, she is adynamic leader and forward thinker. Before joining Fannie, Provinse spent nearly a decade on WallStreet in investment banking and fixed income trading at GoldmanSachs and Bear Stearns. Her experience in agency lending puts heron familiar territory at Berkadia: the firm was the top-ranked HUDloan originator in 2016, the second biggest for Freddie Mac andfourth for Fannie.
