New York City—Edward V. Piccinich has been promoted to chief operating officer at SL Green Realty Corp. He has worked at the real estate investment trust for 16 years, expanding his role from oversight of construction, development, operations and management of SL Green's portfolio to include human resources, sustainability and information technology.
Piccinich's responsibilities include overseeing the construction of One Vanderbilt, the 1.7 million square-foot, office skyscraper currently being built adjacent to Grand Central Terminal, at the corner of Vanderbilt Avenue and 42nd Street. The 57-story, 1.6 million square-foot tower will be one of the tallest buildings in New York City. It is part of the Midtown East rezoning, providing $220 million of public transit improvements.
According to Bloomberg News, he managed one of the largest portfolios in New York. Piccinich was the SVP and director of property management & construction at SL Green since 2002, serving as director of operations and construction from 2005 to 2007.
