WASHINGTON, DC–Rock Creek Property Group has put the historic Codman Carriage House in Dupont Circle on the market. The company has completed a year-long renovation of the 9,600-square foot building, which is located at 1413-15 22nd St, NW. The renovation uncovered architectural details that have been hidden behind a bricked-over façade for decades.
Potential uses for the property, which is next to the Rock Creek Park entrance, include office and retail, Gary Schlager, principal at Rock Creek Property Group says.
Built in 1907 for wealthy socialite Martha Codman, the building was used to stable horses and store carriages for use when she was in residence at her Washington, DC summer mansion. The carriage house features 10 to 15 foot ceilings, classic barn doors, a roof terrace accessible from the second floor, and a NanoWall storefront system with accordion fold glass doors.
Rock Creek has more than $150 million of ongoing projects including ground-up and repositioning projects on the H Street corridor, 14th Street corridor, Old Town, Dupont Circle and Montgomery County. The company is currently deploying Fund II, a $60 million discretionary real estate fund.
