Lumina Residence Supply is Dwindling

The popularity can be attributed to Lumina’s location in the Transbay neighborhood which has grown dramatically in recent years, and now has a great deal of activity in the form of employers and retail.

SAN FRANCISCO—Since coming to market four years ago, Lumina in the SoMa District has averaged a home sale every two days, or 15 per month. The project has fewer than 30 residences left for sale, including four penthouses. A limited selection of move-in ready floor plan options remain for prospective buyers.

This popularity can be attributed to Lumina’s location in the Transbay neighborhood. The area has grown dramatically in recent years, and now, Lumina finds itself in the center of a new neighborhood with a lot of activity. It is just a few blocks from both the new Salesforce Transit Center as well as the Embarcadero and Bay shore.

“When we were in the initial planning stages to develop Lumina back in 2005, the Rincon Hill area was predominantly an industrial area filled with vacant lots,” says Carl Shannon, Tishman Speyer’s senior managing director. “Today, we’re watching this up-and-coming neighborhood grow up around Lumina and flourish. All these new developments are bringing shopping, dining and lifestyle options that are transforming this area into a vibrant community that provides every lifestyle need for local residents.”

The Embarcadero and Ferry Building are just blocks away, and residents are also a short walk from AT&T Park. Employers with offices just blocks from Lumina include Salesforce, The Gap, Amazon, Google and Facebook.

“Since we’ve come to market, Lumina has grown and flourished in tandem with the surrounding Rincon Hill neighborhood,” Shannon tells GlobeSt.com. “We originally designed Lumina to foster and encourage community, and we’re proud that our residents are now playing a large part in shaping SoMa’s bright future.”
