NEW YORK CITY—BFC Partners, the developer of Empire Outlets, just signed a five-year lease with Old Navy. The casual and affordable family clothing store will open its doors alongside 100 other retailers in what’s billed as New York City’s first and only outlet mall. The Old Navy outlet will occupy a 13,382 square-foot space in the 340,000 square-foot, Staten Island shopping complex that’s scheduled to open this fall. An Empire Outlets spokesperson tells GlobeSt.com this brings the shopping center to 72% percent leased.

Empire Outlets will be adjacent to the St. George Ferry Terminal and will also feature a 1,250-vehicle parking garage. H&M, Banana Republic, Nordstrom Rack, Gap Factory and Columbia Sporting Goods are some of the major retailers who also signed on as tenants. The development will feature a 40,000 square-foot food and beverage deck, which will include Shake Shack, Artichoke Basille’s Pizza and MRKTPL, Staten Island’s first artisanal food hall. The center was designed by SHoP Architects.

“We’re thrilled to have Old Navy join the Empire Outlets team and bring its world class brand to Staten Island’s North Shore,” says Joseph Ferrara, principal of BFC Partners.

“We’re excited to grow Old Navy’s presence in the New York City area,” says Old Navy spokesperson, Julie Van Vliet. “We look forward to being a part of this unique shopping experience and welcoming families from all over the city and the world into our new Old Navy outlet store.”
