NEW YORK CITY—Avison Young has added three multifamily and four retail/office investment sales professionals to the team led by head of the tri-state area, James Nelson.

Mitti Liebersohn, Avison Young’s president and managing director of the New York City office, announced the hiring of director Brandon Polakoff, associate director Carly Weinreb, and associate Phillip Bowman in the multifamily investment sales practice in the New York City metro area. All three had worked with Nelson at Cushman & Wakefield.

“Avison Young has enjoyed extraordinary investment sales momentum in the tri-state market since the beginning of the year and these three new strategic hires strengthen our robust capital markets platform even further as well as underscore our ability to continue to attract the industry’s top talent to our organization,” says Liebersohn.

Polakoff brings over 10 years of commercial experience, after serving as associate director of capital services at Cushman & Wakefield. Polakoff oversaw sales with an aggregate value of over $2 billion across eight assets and has originated $93.3 million in sales.

Weinreb has over nine years of commercial experience. At Cushman & Wakefield, she was a senior associate. With Nelson’s sales listings, Weinreb participated in over 100 successful transactions, adding to an aggregate value in excess of $1.4 billion. Bowman was an associate at Cushman & Wakefield.

In retail/office investment sales, the firm hired Brent Glodowski as director, Willis Fries as associate director, and David Lawrence and Henry Post as associates.

In welcoming them, Liebersohn describes the investment sales team as “expanding at breakneck speed.” “It’s gratifying to see the remarkable growth of our investment sales team just as Avison Young celebrates the fifth anniversary of its tri-state operations,” he says.

Glowdowski brings more than 10 years of commercial real estate experience. Most recently, he was a principal at Kinsey Capital, where he participated in the sale of over 53,000 square feet of investment grade real estate for $83 million.

Fries comes from Lexington Realty Trust, where he analyzed complex commercial property market data, property condition reports, appraisals and environmental reports. He performed financial analysis and due diligence for the acquisition of single-tenant commercial properties and portfolios throughout the US with values ranging from $15 to $250 million.

Lawrence joins Avison Young as an office sector specialist from Savills Studley, where he was an office leasing associate. Formerly as an associate in investment sales, Post also worked with Nelson at Cushman & Wakefield. Previously, he operated Post Holdings, LLC, focusing on real estate investment, development and syndication.

This latest recruiting is part of the company’s aggressive investment sales team growth strategy involving several hires in less than two months. This was highlighted by the news headlines covering the hiring of Nelson, as well as a new director of tri-state investment sales, James Kinsey.
