Aging Demographics Precipitate Added Services

With the continued focus on the aging population and demand for more convenient healthcare facilities, many companies are gearing up to address those market dynamics, including promoting personnel.

Brasell says the reorganization positions the firm to capitalize on rapid healthcare growth.

HOUSTON—With the continued focus on the aging population and demand for more convenient healthcare facilities, many companies are gearing up to address those market dynamics. One company in particular, Transwestern, continues to grow its healthcare team with the addition of Justin Brasell, recently appointed executive vice president for the Houston healthcare advisory services team.

“With the Baby Boomer generation entering the healthcare system, providers across the country are working to prepare for an increased demand in healthcare consumption,” Brasell tells GlobeSt.com. “We are approaching a 20-year window of steady growth in healthcare demand, and Transwestern’s healthcare team will continue to work shoulder-to-shoulder with industry executives to provide creative real estate solutions to the healthcare community.”

Working alongside national healthcare director Eric Johnson, Brasell will support business development efforts, direct local initiatives, coordinate client pursuits, and identify and implement new technologies to support owner/occupier clients of healthcare real estate. Transwestern’s Houston healthcare team executed transactions totaling more than $253 million, comprising approximately 1 million square feet in 2017. To date, the team currently leases and manages 61 healthcare properties totaling 4.9 million square feet.

“We are proud of the tremendous success our Houston healthcare team has experienced thus far and look forward to the many things to come both in our market and across the country,” said Kevin Roberts, Transwestern’s Southwest president. “Our Houston healthcare experts will continue to act as a think tank for our national platform and serve our clients with innovative solutions that are unmatched in the industry.”

The Houston team represents some of the largest healthcare institutions in the country, including Memorial Hermann, Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center, HCA, HCP, Tenet Healthcare, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic and Harris Health. The team has implemented tactical partnerships with experts in related fields, such as law, architecture, interior design and technology, to promote a holistic approach to client service and portfolio management. Additionally, the firm is making significant technology investment to provide clients with an in-depth look at portfolios and further enhance data-driven market insight.

Brasell was recently named a top producer of the firm, completing more than $76 million in transactions in 2017. With Brasell leading the Houston team, Johnson will have the capacity to fully focus on Transwestern’s national healthcare strategies and expanded service offerings.

“The reorganization in Houston positions us to capitalize on the rapid growth we are experiencing around the country,” Brasell tells GlobeSt.com.

The team has grown to become one of the largest dedicated healthcare team, operating from 19 cities and including more than 130 members. It provides a full range of services, including leasing, investment, tenant advisory, property management, project management and construction services for hospitals, healthcare networks, physicians and investors.
