Kansas City Auto Suppliers Keep Expanding

The auto suppliers in the region have constructed a series of new plants.

General Motors has poured capital into its Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, KS, and this has helped fuel the expansion of auto suppliers in the region.

KANSAS CITY—US auto sales may have declined, but major auto suppliers still need new and fully-modern plants, and the Kansas City metro is getting its share. Landmark Group Cos. has signed a long-term lease to build and develop a new $40 million dollar, 250,000-square-foot interiors production facility for Faurecia, a leading automotive technology company.

The building is being developed in the Kansas City suburb of Blue Springs, MO, and will create 300 new jobs and over 100 construction jobs.

LandMark Construction, a division of the Landmark Group, will design and construct the facility, which is set on 25-acres of land adjacent to NE 20th St. on the north side of I-70.

“Continuing our strong relationship with Faurecia, this building is the sixth project we have worked on for their organization throughout the United States,” says Bob Sanches, a LandMark partner. “As one of the largest certified MBE real estate development firms and as a unique value add, Landmark is proud to offer corporations like Faurecia, the ability to achieve supplier diversity spend and inclusion through all aspects of real estate and construction.”

“LandMark has demonstrated the ability to meet our needs for new facilities and we’re pleased to be working with them again on this important project, a new plant in Blue Springs,” says Donald Hampton, Jr., president of Faurecia Interior Systems. “Their collaboration and ability to get this facility up and ready for the start of production are vitally important enablers to meet our customers’ needs.”
