TCR Wins Bid To Buy Old Town Bus Garage

The two-acre property is near the Potomac River in walkable neighborhoods of North Old Town.

ALEXANDRIA, VA–The Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority has picked Trammell Crow Residential to buy and redevelop the Royal Street Bus Garage in Old Town Alexandria.

The two-acre property is near the Potomac River in the walkable neighborhoods of North Old Town. Located at 600 North Royal St., it is bounded by Wythe, North Royal, Pendleton and North Pitt streets. The property features a 48,500-square-foot brick building that was constructed in 1933.

The next step for TCR is to begin the rezoning process as outlined in the 2017 Old Town North Small Area Plan.

“We are excited for the opportunity to work with the city, staff, and community to design and build a project that embraces the vibrancy of North Old Town,” said Trey Kirby, Vice President of TCR, in a prepared statement.
