Residents Seek Nature in Housing Options

Bridgeland has gathered interest from second- and third-time move-up buyers, empty-nesters, and professionals and families looking for a connection to nature, and access to Houston, schools, retail and employment.

Bridgeland is a 11,400-acre master-planned community developed by Howard Hughes Corp.

CYPRESS, TX—When completed, Bridgeland will include in excess of 20,000 homes for 65,000 residents, with more than 3,000 acres devoted to lakes, trails and open spaces. Additional community amenities include a junior Olympic-sized pool, parks and open play areas, catch and release fishing, full-time activities director, more than 60 miles of interconnecting trails, and 900 acres of lakes and waterways.

Trendmaker Homes, a member of the TRI Pointe Group, announced the grand opening of two new model homes at this 11,400-acre master-planned community developed by Howard Hughes Corporation. Trendmaker is building 47 villa patio homes on 50-foot lots and 18 single-family homes on 80-foot lots at Bridgeland.

“Howard Hughes has had a thoughtfully planned roadmap for Bridgeland since its inception in 2006,” Joe Mandola, president at Trendmaker Homes, tells GlobeSt.com. “There has been an emphasis on creating a blend of residential neighborhoods, parks and amenities, public and private schools, and an environmentally conscious approach to irrigation, wildlife and energy. Trendmaker Homes has been an active builder partner within the community for many years because Howard Hughes has delivered a community that has all the elements buyers value.”

The villa patio homes will offer seven open-floorplan options and elevations with mid-century modern styles. Ranging in size from 2,127 square feet to 2,542 square feet, the one- and two-story homes include two to three bedrooms, two to three bathrooms, and two-car garages. Prices start at $349,900.

The more traditional one- and two-story single-family homes will range in size from 3,614 square feet to 4,932 square feet. Buyers have the choice of 14 floor plan options, which include four to five bedrooms, three to four bathrooms, and three-car garages. Prices start at $548,900.

As part of Trendmaker’s LivingSmart program, each home will not only be designed and independently certified to exceed local energy codes, but will also be enhanced with money-saving energy-efficient features throughout. Bridgeland will also provide smart landscape components, such as native plantings to minimize the need for frequent fertilization, irrigation and maintenance, along with a comprehensive signage system detailing indigenous plants and animals, and flowers to attract butterflies.

Bridgeland includes a 127-acre educational village that will include 1 million square feet of learning space for at least 5,912 students and will include a four-story high school, three-story middle school and two-story elementary school. Three public school districts will eventually service Bridgeland: Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District,  Katy Independent School District and Waller Independent School District.

“The community offers buyers not only a close connection to nature, but easy access to Houston, schools, shopping and employment,” said Mandola. “We are seeing a wide range of interest from second- and third-time move-up buyers, empty-nesters to business professionals and families.”

Mandola tells GlobeSt.com that the interest is due to the development’s amenities, sense of community and access to major traffic corridors.

The master-planned community has been recognized by the National Association of Home Builders (master-planned community of the year in the nationals gold awards), the Texas Association of Builders (2015 community of the year) and the Greater Houston Builders Association (Houston’s best PRISM awards).
