Retail leasing volume may be leveling off this year after record-breaking volumes in 2017, according to retail occupier brokers Jeff Nichols and Ryan Sullivan. Nichols and Sullivan recently CBRE as SVPs to focus on the retail occupier business. In addition to slowed leasing activity, the team says that rolling 10-year leases this year may expect lower rental rates—and that could be another factor impacting the market this year. Overall, however, Nichols and Sullivan say that their retail business is growing, and a good time for them to join CBRE. We sat down with Nichols and Sullivan to talk about the new position and trends in the retail occupier market.
