Fort Worth Sustains Upward Tenant Trajectory

Whitley Penn recently leased two full floors in Frost Tower, downtown’s newest high-rise, as the accounting firm looks to be a major presence in the market and offer its employees better life quality.

Frost Tower is downtown’s only class-A building and the first high-rise built in 20 years.

FORT WORTH—Citing a need for collaborative space amid a 10-year growth spurt, accounting firm Whitley Penn leased 45,872 square feet encompassing two full floors in Frost Tower, according to Anthracite Realty Partners LLC. The move to downtown’s newest high-rise symbolizes Whitley Penn’s continued desire to be a major presence within the market and emphasizes employee quality of life.

“In 2007, we built the building we are currently in and were sure it would provide space for us for the next 20 years. Flash forward to today and Whitley Penn is five times the size it was when we first moved in,” Larry Autry, Whitley Penn’s managing partner, tells GlobeSt.com. “We were looking at building a neighboring tower on the adjoining land we own or moving into a building that would allow for our continued growth. We partnered with the team at JLL and together we were able to identify a solution in Frost Tower. Our new office provides a more collaborative space and great amenities to accommodate our growing employment base. We view our move to Frost Tower as an opportunity to provide an outstanding work experience for our team.”

Frost Tower is downtown’s only class-A building and the first high-rise constructed in more than 20 years. The 25-story building was designed by Bennett Benner Partners and built by Balfour Beatty Construction. Frost Tower offers amenities including 24/7 on-site security, high-speed destination dispatch elevators, 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, open-concept floorplans and a tenant-only fitness facility.

“Frost Tower will allow our team the opportunity to work in a great building with access to the restaurants and amenities of downtown, while providing the business community of Fort Worth the convenience of our audit, tax and consulting professionals working in close proximity,” said Autrey.

The central location of the building provides 360-degree views of Fort Worth from every floor and many walkable amenities. Frost Tower is also home to an event venue for private events, meetings and conferences, as well as Perch, one of the area’s newest restaurants.

Seth Koschak and Tyler Maner with Stream Realty Partners represented the landlord, Anthracite Realty, in the transaction. Cannon Camp and Todd Burnette with JLL represented Whitley Penn.

“Whitley Penn’s new office exemplifies their commitment to our region, their clients and their employees,” said Burnette. “This office solution will allow them to continue elevating the quality of client services and provide their team members a cutting-edge office as they continue to grow.”

Whitley Penn is slated to occupy its space in late 2018, bringing the building to 70% leased.

“Frost Tower Fort Worth is truly an irreplaceable project that offers tenants an experience that cannot be duplicated in our market today. We are excited that Whitley Penn noticed this rare opportunity to be a part of such a unique asset. Expanding the tenant roster to include Whitley Penn only adds to the environment and atmosphere the ownership has always envisioned,” said Maner.
