Lennar Moves Forward With WildBlue Project

The WildBlue project will feature a variety of homes to be built by Lennar, as well as other major builders.

The WildBlue master-planned community will total approximately 1,000 homes.

ESTERO, FL—Miami-based homebuilder Lennar has begun construction on a major gated community of approximately 1,000 homes on a 3,000-acre site here.

The WildBlue project will feature a variety of homes to be built by Lennar, as well as other major builders—Pulte, Stock Development and WCI Communities—and will feature homes priced from the $400,000s to more than $4 million.

WildBlue will be centered on 872 acres of adjoining lakes and 1,329 acres of surrounding preserve land. A Lennar spokesperson tells Globest.com that land development has begun and Lennar hopes to have some home models built by early 2019.

Lennar did not provide an overall development cost for the project.

Multiple neighborhoods at WildBlue will provide a range of one- and two-story home designs. Lennar will offer homes ranging from 1,800 square feet to 3,800 square feet with prices ranging from the $400,000s to $700,000s. WCI will offer homes ranging from 2,000 square feet to 4,000 square feet with prices ranging from $400,000 to more than $1 million. Pulte will offer homes ranging from 1,671square feet to 3,900 square feet with prices ranging from the $400,000s to more than $1 million. Stock will offer homes ranging from 2,500 square feet to more than 4,000 square feet with prices ranging from the $600,000s to more than $4 million. Proposed amenities at the development include kayaking, boating, paddle boarding and other lagoon activities.

“With its lakefront lifestyle and striking natural landscaping, future WildBlue residents will enjoy the winning combination of new home designs and a thriving, amenity-rich environment,” says Darin McMurray, Southwest Florida division president for Lennar. “We are excited to make the best use of this beautiful land and to combine Lennar’s decades of experience with our other respected builder partners to create an absolutely unparalleled lifestyle for the future residents of WildBlue.”

WildBlue will be minutes from neighborhood shopping, dining and entertainment, including a full-scale movie theatre and hundreds of major retailers and restaurants located within the Gulf Coast Town Center, Miromar Outlets and the 1.4 million-square-foot Coconut Point Mall.

Bordered by Alico and Corkscrew roads in Estero, the community is accessible to Interstate 75 and US 41and is located near Fort Myers, Naples, the Southwest Florida International Airport and Florida Gulf Coast University.

Another major master-planned community in Estero has also reached a significant milestone. Cameratta Companies has announced the completion of its phase one amenities at The Place at Corkscrew, a planned gated, 1,325-home Southern Plantation-inspired community.

Lennar and Pulte are actively selling their respective model home collections on the site that totals nearly 1,400 acres. Extensive phase two and three amenities are now under construction. Lennar’s homes are priced beginning at $275,999, while the Pulte residences are priced from the upper $200,000s to the $400,000s.

“Amenities are what set The Place at Corkscrew apart as a true destination lifestyle,” said Nick Cameratta, CEO of Cameratta Cos. “The introduction of our first phase of amenities is a tremendous kick-off of that vision. It transforms the development into a place where residents will not only enjoy life within their own exceptional Lennar or Pulte home, but also across a community in which top-notch comforts and conveniences have been integrated into virtually every corner.”

The now-completed phase one amenities include: a fully-enclosed and fenced playground with swings, slides, shade structures and two 33-foot Sky Run Zip Tracks, an under-roof pavilion with picnic tables, restrooms and drinking fountains, a half basketball court, a fully enclosed and fenced dog park with benches, water station and leashing/unleashing area, and a multi-purpose grass flex field for outdoor sporting activities.

Within a few months, phase two amenities are expected to be completed. Those community enhancements will include a two-story fitness center, café and marketplace, community pool and spa, 100-foot waterslide and splash pad, beach volleyball court, tennis pro shop and tennis, pickleball and bocce courts and a trolley. Phase three amenities are slated for completion in mid-2019, and will feature a restaurant, wine and martini bar and a multi-functional room.
