Industrious Doubles Presence in Chicago with Assemble Deal

NEW YORK CITY—Brooklyn-based workplace provider Industrious has acquired Chicago co-working firm Assemble and its three locations in the greater Chicago area.

The deal doubles Industrious’ footprint in Chicago and includes 42,000 square feet of office space at all three of the Assemble offices in Wicker Park, Old Town and the West Loop.

No financial terms of the transaction were released.

Industrious, which was founded in 2013 provides premium co-working and flexible workplace solutions to established companies and enterprises ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 brands, including household names such as Lyft, Hyatt, Pandora and Chipotle. The company has seen extraordinary growth in the past year and now operates more than 50 coworking spaces in 33 cities nationwide. Industrious currently operates three offices in Chicago in Evanston, Fulton Market and River North.

The firm opened its first location in Manhattan at SL Green Realty’s 215 Park Ave. South in 2017, taking more than 17,000 square feet of space at the office tower.
