NEW YORK CITY—Robin Abrams, former vice chair of retail at Eastern Consolidated, is joining the recently launched commercial division of national brokerage firm Compass.

Abrams, and her entire team—Abrams Retail Strategies—are joining the commercial division of Compass in New York. Earlier this month, Compass announced the launch of its commercial division with its merger with the Paragon Real Estate Group in San Francisco and with the hiring of former Eastern Consolidated executives Adelaide Polsinelli and Ronda Rogovin. Eastern Consolidated ceased operations in July.

In addition to Abrams, the group now joining Compass includes brokers Lisa Rosenthal, Rebecca Olshan, Herman Glaswand, Curtis Woodside and Alexander Vellios.

Before joining Eastern Consolidated, Abrams spent three decades developing the retail business at The Lansco Corp., where she was vice chairman.

“Our first priority is always a hands-on, service-oriented approach for our clients,” Abrams says. “We were immediately drawn to Compass and their dedication to agent support and cutting-edge technology, which will allow us to continue providing our clients with thoughtful and creative results.”

Abrams Retail Strategies has represented and worked with luxury brands such as Armani, Donna Karan, Anya Hindmarch and Agent Provacteur, as well as contemporary brands Vince, Rebecca Taylor, Splendid, 7 Jeans and others.

Abrams and her team are members of the Real Estate Board of New York and the International Council of Shopping Centers. Abrams served as the first woman chair of the REBNY Retail Committee and is currently serving her third term on the REBNY Commercial Board of Directors.  She teaches the retail zoning and planning section of REBNY’s continuing education.
