MORRISTOWN, NJ—Mark Shearer, a 30-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry who was most recently the NJ/PA market officer for industrial property company Prologis, will become regional development officer for the New Jersey/Pennsylvania region of the Rockefeller Group. Shearer will be a senior vice president and based in Rockefeller Group’s Morristown, NJ office.

“I’m thrilled to be leading development operations for Rockefeller Group at what is a very exciting and active time for both the company and for the broader New Jersey and Lehigh Valley commercial real estate markets,” says Shearer. “Rockefeller Group is a world-class organization known for its forward-thinking, talented roster of professionals, and I look forward to joining our strong team in the region and growing our development pipeline.”

Drawing upon his deep commercial real estate expertise and his recent management of one of the largest industrial real estate portfolios in the New York/New Jersey market, Shearer is well-positioned to lead Rockefeller Group’s already strong roster of commercial real estate development professionals and projects.  The company’s current portfolio includes projects in Piscataway, Edison and Florham Park, NJ, and in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, where the firm recently broke ground on a two-building 1.3-million-square foot speculative distribution center.

“We are delighted to welcome Mark Shearer to Rockefeller Group,” said Brandi Hanback, executive vice president of industrial development for Rockefeller Group. “He is a strong addition to our leadership team and to the New Jersey/Pennsylvania region as we continue to execute on large-scale existing projects and identify future development opportunities.”

While at Prologis, Shearer oversaw more than 34 million square feet of industrial properties and developed 1.8 million square feet of build-to-suit and speculative industrial space. Before working in the New York/New Jersey region, Shearer held the same position at Prologis in the Mid-Atlantic region, managing a 15-million-square-foot industrial portfolio in Maryland, North and South Carolina, and Virginia.

Before joining Prologis, Shearer worked for AMB Property Corporation, operating an 8-million-square-foot industrial portfolio in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia, and for NAI/KLNB Management, where he managed an 18-million-square-foot portfolio of retail, office and industrial assets for institutional clients and high-net-worth individuals.

Shearer is a NAIOP New Jersey Chapter Trustee. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Salisbury State University in Salisbury, MD.
