Danny Meyer to Create New Restaurant at Manhattan West

The Union Square Hospitality Group’s restaurant will serve as an anchor tenant at Brookfield Properties’ expansive, mixed-use development.

NEW YORK CITY—Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group will open a new restaurant at Brookfield Properties’ Manhattan West. It will open in 2020 and serve as an anchor tenant in the eight-acre, six-building, mixed-use development. Marketed as a “live, work, play destination,” the seven million square-foot complex occupies Ninth to Tenth Avenues from W. 31st to W. 33rd streets near Hudson Yards.

The 250,000 square feet of retail space at Manhattan West will be anchored by the restaurant, Peloton Studios’ flagship center, and a 60,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market.

Manhattan West will offer nearly six million square feet of office space, The Eugene luxury rental apartments and a boutique hotel. The development also features landscaped outdoor spaces and public art and events organized by Brookfield.

Commercial tenants at the Manhattan West campus include Amazon, JP Morgan Chase and RGA at Five Manhattan West, and Accenture, EY, McKool Smith, the NHL and the law firm Skadden, Arps at One Manhattan West.

Erin Grace and Patrick Smith at JLL and Michael Goldban, Mark Kostic and Jason Maurer in-house at Brookfield represented the landlord. Union Square Hospitality Group did not use an outside brokerage firm.
