Anytime Fitness Looks to Nearly Double Presence in Alabama

Anytime Fitness says it hopes to open up to 30 new gyms in Alabama in the next five years.

MONTGOMERY, AL—Anytime Fitness has its sights set on opening as many as 30 new gym locations in Alabama by 2024.

The announcement by the Woodbury, MN-based fitness franchise follows a similar plan announced last week to expand its presence in Tennessee.

There are 33 Anytime Fitness gyms open in Alabama. A new gym location is scheduled to open in Monroeville this month and three other gyms that are in various stages of development— Dothan, Huntsville and Saraland—are slated to open in 2019.

The company reports that Diane Snell, the owner of two Anytime Fitness gyms in Alabama, plans to open a new Anytime Fitness gym in Huntsville early next year.
