Infrastructure Expert Greg May Joins HNTB Corporation as Rail Program Manager

Greg May's leadership experience on projects nationwide provides a comprehensive new resource for HNTB's Pennsylvania transit and rail clients.

PHILADELPHIA, PA—Greg May, PE, LEED AP, has joined HNTB Corporation in Philadelphia as rail program manager and associate vice president. May is supporting the firm’s complex rail infrastructure projects throughout the region, initially leading a major opportunity with the Delaware River Port Authority.

May’s 20 years of industry experience includes a robust background in leading and managing engineering teams to deliver rail and transit design projects and construction assignments to clients throughout the US.

He has significant technical and managerial experience in the region, including work for Amtrak, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, Norfolk Southern, CSX and DRPA.

Before joining HNTB, May served as vice president and rail and transit practice leader for another consulting firm, leading projects across the country.

May is an active member of numerous professional and community organizations, including the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, the American Public Transportation Association’s Rail Transit and Capital Projects committees, and the American Society of Civil Engineers Philadelphia Section. Greg was named one of Mass Transit Magazine’s 2017 “Top 40 Under 40.” He also was selected for the prestigious Leadership APTA executive leadership program in 2018.

May holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, summa cum laude, from the University of New Haven. He also studied mechanical engineering at Villanova University and the University of Pittsburgh.

HNTB is a leading infrastructure solutions firm in the US, and is currently or has been involved in some of the most complex transportation infrastructure projects in Pennsylvania, including performing design and construction management for the Ben Franklin Bridge Port Authority Transit Corporation Track Rehabilitation project; preparing an environmental assessment for improvements to I-95 in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including the Scudder Falls Bridge over the Delaware River; and serving as program management consultant for the 550-mile all-electronic tolling conversion for the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
