CHICAGO–The American Association of Diabetes Educators has signed an 18,511-square-foot lease at 125 S. Wacker. The association plans to expand into this new location next January.

“The building has a strong first-class presence that would support their mission and satisfy their membership that the organization is good steward of the organization’s resources,” Gregg Witt, senior vice president with CBRE told GlobeSt.com. Witt represented AADE in the transaction.

AADE is currently occupying 17,000 square feet at 200 W. Madison. Witt said the company considered a number of spaces, including staying in their current building but moving floors, but ultimately, “125 South Wacker checked a number of boxes.”

The move will allow AADE to expand, and give them space to grow. They will occupy a full floor, and have plans to create a collaborative workspace.

The owners of 125 South Wacker recently redeveloped the 566,454-square-foot office – a perk that AADE took into consideration when making the final decision. Improvements included lobby, elevators, and common spaces renovations, as well as the addition of an amenity floor – complete with a four seasons room with operable windows, conference space, and fitness center with a meditation studio.

CBRE’s Sara Spicklemire, senior vice president, Kelsey Scheive, vice president, and Kerry Middleton, associate, represented the landlord in the transaction.
