Zola Gets Hitched to 7 WTC

The wedding planning and registry tenant signed a 30,000 square-foot lease at Silverstein Properties’ World Trade Center building.

NEW YORK CITY—The fastest growing wedding company in the country is moving its headquarters to 30,000 square feet on the 39th floor at 7 World Trade Center. Zola signed an 11-year lease with Silverstein Properties with an asking rent of $80 per square foot.

Zola is moving from 150 Broadway into its new offices where they will have the opportunity to build a showroom. This space will provide an in-person experience, connected to the company’s online wedding planning tools and registry. Only five years old, Zola has raised over $140 million in venture capital.

“We’ve tripled our headcount in the past two years and we needed to find a building that could accommodate our fast growth and big vision for the future,” said Shan-Lyn Ma, CEO and co-founder of Zola.

Designed by David Childs of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, 7 World Trade Center opened in May 2006. Silverstein Properties has been in the building for the past 12 years. Other tenants include BMI, the New York Academy of Sciences, Fast Company and Inc. magazines.

In the most recent lease, Jeremy Moss, director of World Trade Center leasing for Silverstein Properties, led the negotiations for the landlord, along with VP Camille McGratty. They were assisted by the CBRE team of Mary Ann Tighe, Steven Siegel, Adam Foster, Steve Eynon, Evan Haskell, David Caperna, Ken Meyerson and Rob Hill. Colliers International’s Marcus Rayner and Sam Einhorn represented Zola. The tenant also hired HLW to design its space.
