NEW YORK CITY—GlobeSt.com will hold its Inaugural GlobeSt.ELITE: WOMEN OF INFLUENCE Retreat and Gala on July 10-11, 2019 at the Omni Interlocken Hotel in Broomfield, CO.

It is the first such event for GlobeSt.com—a natural evolution for the media company, which has been long advocating for and acknowledging the accomplishments of women in commercial real estate via Real Estate Forum and GlobeSt.com. “We just celebrated our 25th anniversary covering Women of Influence,” says Sule Aygoren, Editor-In-Chief of ALM Real Estate Media. “The issues women in our industry face are wide-ranging and unfortunately, often overlooked outside of venues such as ours. We will continue to seek to change that, with further coverage in our publications and now, with a dynamic inaugural Women of Influence retreat and gala.”

The two-day retreat is, in fact, a think-tank to advance the hiring, retention and promotion of diverse women in the commercial real estate industry by providing them a platform to meet and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing women in this sector.

The event is unique to GlobeSt.com’s (formerly RealShare) expansive array of industry events, says Scott Thompson, Vice President & Global Events Director — Real Estate. “The WOMEN OF INFLUENCE retreat and gala will be a much more intimate, ‘unplugged’ if you will, gathering in which topics important to the most influential women in CRE and their careers are discussed,”  Thompson says.

GlobeSt.com has assembled past WOMEN OF INFLUENCE winners and hall of famers to provide their narrative and insights on their professional journey for the event. Sessions will include such topics as “Building a Successful Women’s Initiative within Your Organization”, after which attendees will break into groups and discuss strategies to create a mock women’s initiative for an organization; “The Path to CRE Success & How it Compares to Different Industries”; and “Uncovering the CRE Gender Gap & Overcoming Unconscious Bias.”

The first day of the retreat will be capped by an awards ceremony and gala dinner honoring this year’s WOI winners.

The awards will break down into jobs-related categories for owners/investors, developers/builders, brokers in all the asset classes and lender/finance/ capital markets among many others. The call for nominations will open shortly.

“We are very pleased to provide a national platform that both acknowledges achievements and creates a community where nurturing talent and inspiring change takes center stage,” Thompson said.
