PHILADELPHIA, PA—Jones Lang LaSalle named Paige Jaffe a managing director, and Mallory Scaccetti a senior vice president to lead a new Retail Leasing practice in the Philadelphia Region.

“The building of a female-led service line of this caliber is a first in the Philadelphia Region for any commercial real estate firm, which showcases JLL’s forward-thinking approach when it comes to diversity in a traditionally male-dominated industry,” says Naveen Jaggi, president of Retail Advisory Services and Capital Markets at JLL.  “With a rapidly evolving retail mix in Philadelphia submarkets such as Market East, Rittenhouse, University City, and Schuylkill Yards, JLL has chosen a team that is not only the best in the market but breaks the traditional brokerage mold.”

Jaffe is an experienced Philadelphia broker specializing in both tenant and landlord representation. Throughout her career, Jaffe has worked across several high street markets including Philadelphia, New York City, Washington, DC, and Pittsburgh. During her career as a commercial real estate broker, she has worked with such retailers as Apple, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, and Warby Parker to bring their retail concepts to the city of Philadelphia.

Scaccetti is a broker with four years of experience in commercial real estate and extensive experience in upscale mixed-use projects in Philadelphia’s Center City and the surrounding suburbs. Most notably, in 2018 Scaccetti worked on Brandywine Realty Trust’s redevelopment of the almost seven-million-square-foot Schuylkill Yards location. Scaccetti was responsible for the mixed-use aspects of the project which included “eat-entertainment” destinations, community focused concepts, and retail space for innovative and progressive brands. Her focus on consumer behavior and tracking of developing brands makes her an expert for burgeoning retail brands looking to enter the Philadelphia market.

With the addition of leasing to its already strong property management, capital markets and project and development services retail platform, JLL Philadelphia says it is now positioned to be a dominant retail player in the region.

The addition of Jaffe and Scaccetti will allow JLL to provide truly comprehensive retail advisory and consulting and collaborate more effectively with the firm’s Office Agency platform, especially in Center City where quality, ground-floor retail is a must in nearly every new project, renovation, or repositioning of an asset, the firm says.

The new team, with nearly 15 years of combined experience, will be overseen by Mike Morrone, executive managing director and Philadelphia market director,  and work closely with Jaggi. They’ll also interface with many other service line leads, such as Jim Galbally, Managing Director of Capital Markets, who already has a strong focus on retail, to enhance retailer and investor needs in the region.

“We have been focused on deepening our client service in retail as the Philadelphia market has a great deal of retail momentum,” says Morrone. “With the renewed focus on redevelopment in the region, there is a significant need for powerhouse brokers with in-depth knowledge of the Philadelphia market.”
