NEW YORK CITY—Standard International, the parent company of boutique hotel brands Standard Hotels and the Bunkhouse Group, released its new development pipeline today, involving 15 domestic and international properties.

The pipeline includes Standard Hotels’ first European property—The Standard, London, which is opening this spring in Kings Cross. The 266-room property is being developed at the historic Camden Town Annex across from St. Pancras Station.

The New York City-based Standard International, which received a $58-million capital investment from Bangkok-based real estate development firm Sansiri PCL in 2017, now has a pipeline of 12 new Standard hotels. With the exception of a new property in Chicago, Standard’s growth plans are overseas with new hotels slated for: London, Paris, Milan, Lisbon, Mexico City, the Maldives, Bangkok, Phuket, Jakarta, Hua Hin and Pattaya.

Standard Hotels current locations are in the Highline and East Village neighborhoods of New York City, Miami Beach, Los Angeles and Hollywood, CA.

Standard International also has plans to add three new locations to its Bunkhouse brand in Austin, New Orleans and Atlanta. These projects will include the first mixed-use branded residential projects for both Standard and Bunkhouse.

“This is an exciting time for our team,” says Amar Lalvani, CEO of Standard International. “We have a global pipeline of incredible projects well underway in some of the most interesting places in the world, all with first rate partners. Sophisticated hotel owners and developers have taken note of how genuine and rich our culture and creativity are compared to the plethora of soulless ‘lifestyle brands’ popping up seemingly at every turn.”

Standard International also provided an update on its venture-backed technology company, One Night, which was launched in 2016. One Night, a same-day hotel booking app, currently operates in 17 cities with a curated list of more than 200 hotels. With a recent investment led by Washington, DC-based venture capital firm SWaN & Legend Venture Partners, One Night will spin off as a separate company, although Standard International will remain the majority owner.

The capital infusion into One Night announced late last month was approximately $5 million, according to a report in Fast Company.
