JACKSONVILLE, FL— Cinemark Holdings Inc. of Plano, TX reports it will be building a new 14-screen theatre in phase two of Sleiman Enterprises’ Atlantic North shopping center development project here.

Scheduled to open in the summer of 2020, the theatre will be located at the northwest quadrant of Atlantic and Kernan boulevards.

“We are excited to be a part of Atlantic North,” says Mark Zoradi, Cinemark’s CEO. “Our Cinemark theatre will be the entertainment anchor to this impressive shopping center, providing an unparalleled entertainment experience for the eastern communities of the Jacksonville metropolitan area.”

Belk, Earth Fare, Academy Sports + Outdoors and LA Fitness anchor Atlantic North. In addition to Cinemark’s theatre, phase two of Atlantic North will involve an additional 300,000 square feet of space to the property.

“We are thrilled to welcome Cinemark to Atlantic North,” says Sleiman Enterprises leasing representative Ashleigh Sleiman, who represented the deal along with colleague Hunter Sleiman. “Cinemark’s exceptional facility will also serve as a catalyst for advancing phase two, bringing Sleiman Enterprises’ development at Atlantic and Kernan to a total of 550,000 square feet.”

Each of the 14 auditoriums at the Cinemark Atlantic North theatre will boast advanced technology and customer-preferred amenities including: a Cinemark XD auditorium, Cinemark’s Luxury Loungers—electric-powered, plush, oversize recliners with footrests and cup holders; reserved seating with convenient online and kiosk ticketing; an ultramodern viewing environment with wall-to-wall screens and enhanced sound systems; 4K digital projection powered by Barco projectors; RealD 3D capability; and a lobby, complete with a full-service, traditional concession.

Jacksonville-based Sleiman Enterprises also reported on Wednesday that JHH Amelia Market, LLC, an affiliate of Coro Realty Advisors, has hired Sleiman to provide leasing and management services for the firm’s Shops at Amelia Market at 4800 1st Coast Highway in Fernandina Beach, FL.

Located at the corner of First Coast Highway and South Fletcher Avenue, the 75,221-square-foot retail shopping is located on 8.67 acres. Atlanta based Coro Realty Advisors purchased Shops at Amelia Market in December 2018. The center was recently expanded, adding nearly 13,000 square feet coupled with full renovation and expansion of the property anchor to 53,000 square feet in late 2017.

Anchored by grocer Harris Teeter, Shops at Amelia Market is the only Florida location for the supermarket chain. Other current tenants include: FiFi’s Fine Resale, Evelyne Talman of Amelia Island fashion boutique, Amelia Liquors, Brooks Rehabilitation, Ly’s Nails and Keller Williams Realty.

Hen House Restaurant Group recently signed a lease to add a Bantam & Biddy restaurant in the center, which they expect to open mid-2019.
