Skanska’s Leatherbee Joins Trammell Crow to Head its New Boston Office

BOSTON—Dallas-based real estate development and investment firm Trammell Crow reports it is opening a new office in Boston next month that will be headed by real estate veteran Charles Leatherbee.

Leatherbee will join Trammell Crow officially on May 6. He most recently served as executive vice president and regional manager of Skanska USA Commercial Development’s Boston office.

The 21-year real estate veteran has been appointed as senior vice president and business unit leader with Trammell Crow and will be responsible for all development and acquisition projects, including sourcing new principal and fee opportunities, financial structuring and the overall day-to-day operations of the office. Leatherbee will report to Jeff Goggins, senior managing director of TCC’s Northeast metro office located in West Conshohocken, PA

Leatherbee’s team will build a multi-product business in the office, multifamily, life sciences and industrial sectors, according to Trammell Crow.

A company spokesperson tells Globest.com that the firm is still in negotiations on where it will house its new Boston office.

At Skanska USA Commercial, Leatherbee was responsible for the day-to-day operations, including setting business strategy and financial targets and sourcing new deals. He led a team of real estate professionals developing nearly 2 million square feet of commercial developments and more than $1 billion of life science, office and multifamily property throughout Greater Boston.

At Skanska he was instrumental in the negotiations of joint venture agreements, PSAs, commercial and ground leases, as well as development agreements across mixed-use, commercial, laboratory and multifamily projects. He has also held various roles at Commonwealth Ventures LLC and Boston Properties, Inc.
