3D Hubs Chooses Chicago for North American HQ
The firm, which received $18 million in new funding earlier this year, reports that it plans to centralize its US-based workforce in Chicago at the mHUB building at 965 W. Chicago Ave.
CHICAGO—City and company officials announced last week that 3D Hubs’ new North American headquarters will be located at the mHUB building here in the West Town section of the city. The firm reportedly had also considered Boston and Minneapolis as possible headquarters locations.
The firm, which received $18 million in new funding earlier this year, reports that it plans to centralize its US-based workforce in Chicago at the mHUB building at 965 W. Chicago Ave. The Amsterdam-based automated manufacturing firm intends to double its headquarters team by the end of this year, city officials stated. 3D Hubs will open its Chicago office in June.
“3D Hubs joins the long list of international companies choosing Chicago for their future,” said Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “With our growing tech economy and strong digital manufacturing community, Chicago is the perfect home for this innovative company. I look forward to seeing 3D Hubs success in Chicago in the years to come.”
The company was also considering Minneapolis and Boston for its North American headquarters, according to a report in 3DPrint.com.

Launched in 2016, mHUB’s member companies generated more than $48.5 million in revenue, raised more than $100 million in funding, hired more than 780 employees and launched more than 640 products.
