Quontic Bank Subleases One Rockefeller Plaza
The New York-based bank is moving its headquarters from Queens to Midtown Manhattan.
NEW YORK CITY—Quontic Bank signed a six-year sublease for the full ninth floor, totaling 19,799 square feet at Tishman Speyer’s 1 Rockefeller Plaza. The sublandlord is Trammo, a raw materials merchandising and trading company. The asking rent was $68 per square foot.
Once called the Time-LIfe Building, the 36-story, 608,397-square-foot Midtown office tower was constructed in 1937. The Associated Architects designed the iconic art deco building, as part of the 19-building Rockefeller Center. Tishman Speyer acquired the skyscraper in 2001.
Alexander Chudnoff, Benjamin Bass and Harrison Potter, all with JLL, represented subtenant Quontic Bank. Savills, Inc.’s Greg Taubin, Scott Bogetti and Sean Hoffman represented sublandlord Trammo.
“Quontic Bank will be relocating its corporate headquarters from Astoria, Queens, to 1 Rockefeller as part of its expansion and conversion to a digital bank and was focused on finding the best platform to continue growing its expanding business in Manhattan,” says Chudnoff.
On July 1, the bank will be moving from 31-05 Broadway in Astoria, Queens.
