Alexandria Partners With Verily to Develop New Rehabilitation Campus

OneFifteen opens its first two campus facilities today dedicated to opioid addiction care in Dayton, OH.

DAYTON, OH – Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. has partnered with Verily, an Alphabet company, to pioneer a new, state-of-the-art campus for OneFifteen, a non-profit system dedicated to full, sustained recovery for opioid addicts. The fully-integrated campus, located in Dayton, OH, will provide comprehensive, continual care to individuals suffering from opioid addiction.

Alexandria is leading the design and development of the campus, while sharing a vision with Verily, to create an ideal, safe environment centered around improving lives and addressing unmet recovery needs. The campus will feature six facilities across 33,000-square-feet spanning 4.3 acres of land.

OneFifteen, launched earlier this week by Kettering Health Network, Premier Health and Verily, will occupy and operate the space, implementing a distinct, integrated approach to connect addicts with support services in one designated location. The campus facilities will specialize in rehabilitation, sober living, family reunification and community transition, with optimum space for inpatient residents.

Recognizing that recovery is a continual process, OneFifteen aims to connect all components of the campus for a cohesive patient experience in order to achieve positive outcomes. The campus will serve both outpatient and inpatient clinical care provided by Samaritan Behavioral Health, Inc., a subsidiary of Premier Health. Verily is also implementing an educational system on campus to provide information on addiction treatments.

OneFifteen is celebrating its grand opening today, marking the completion of its first two facilities on campus. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be attended by regional, federal and state government officials, as well as community stakeholders, to highlight the endeavor’s significance to community vitality. OneFifteen Board members will also be announced today, as they welcome Dr. Natalie Lester as medical director. The new center will begin seeing patients later this summer, with an expected 2020 completion date.

Dayton, OH was selected by OneFifteen for its initial site focus, as it is currently at the center of the national opioid crisis, with one of the highest overdose death rates per capita. The growing epidemic in the US has become a prominent public health issue, with mainly opioid-related, unintended overdoses leading the cause of death in Americans under the age of 50. According to report by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 115 people died every day from an opioid overdose in the US in 2017, and the numbers have continued to rise. Committed to reversing this statistic, OneFifteen aims to revitalize the community while encouraging others across the nation to replicate their efforts.

As a Real Estate Investment Trust, Alexandria focuses on life science and technology campuses. The company is determined to advance human health within its locations, offering innovative initiatives to cure disease, improve nutrition and benefit quality of life. They are committed to providing all tenants with highly dynamic, collaborative environments to enhance opportunity for success.
