NEW YORK CITY—Colliers International Group has created a new division, Colliers Project Leaders | USA. It consolidates services of project management, development management, planning, advisory, commissioning and energy practices into one service group covering the US, aligning with its work in Canada.

The new platform will better enable the commercial real estate services and investment management firm to assemble the right teams with expertise, market knowledge and connections to provide better client services says Gil Borok, COO, U.S. Operations at Colliers.

“Whether our client is a developer, institution or governmental agency, Colliers Project Leaders | USA provides tailored and collaborative solutions to maximize the potential of complex construction projects,” says Jonathan Winikur, executive managing director and principal of the new division.

The new group brings with it experience and a reputation for delivering complex construction projects, including with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Frick Collection, Choate Rosemary Hall, Maine Medical Center and the University of Connecticut.

Winikur tells GlobeSt.com that the new division and Canada team will operate independently but will work in collaboration to share key service information and expertise. He also explains the energy team’s role in the new division.

“The commissioning & energy team has been an integral part of the overall Colliers repertoire for many years providing specialized services tailored to meet the challenges associated with modern building mechanical and electrical systems,” says Winikur. “Specifically, the practice group focuses upon helping to ensure that clients have building systems that are designed appropriately to meet the user requirements, are installed properly, and operate as intended with the staff training in place to maintain them.”

He adds that the specialty team works with clients’ existing facilities to optimize the energy performance of their assets to significantly save operating expenses, typically more than 20%. This is in addition to reducing carbon emissions.
