SHVO Hires New CFO and Managing Directors

The luxury development firm’s CEO and chairman Michael Shvo says the new hires will help the company stay ahead of the curve.

NEW YORK CITY—The New York-based real estate owner and developer of luxury properties SHVO has recruited three senior executives.

Jessica Schmidt is the CFO, developing and overseeing financial strategies for the company’s portfolio, as well as managing lender and banking relationships on behalf of the firm. She’s based in the New York office. Prior to joining SHVO, Schmidt was the chief financial officer at Hidrock Properties in New York. She had served as the company’s managing director, finance, before being promoted to CFO.

Earlier in her career, Schmidt was the controller at Woodmont Properties in Fairmont, NJ, and assistant controller at Prism Construction Management and Prism Capital Partners, in Bloomfield, NJ. She attended Columbia Union College, studying business and music and received her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Maryland University College.

Also in the New York office, Nadia Meratla was appointed managing director of design & development. She’ll oversee the design and programming of SHVO’s portfolio including a mixed-use retail and residential project in Beverly Hills, the upcoming Mandarin Oriental residences at 685 Fifth Ave. in Manhattan and The Raleigh in Miami Beach.

Prior to joining SHVO, Meratla worked as a senior project manager, and senior planning & design director at Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group; SVP, design & development at Douglas Elliman; and a project architect at Gluckman Mayner Architects, all in New York City.

Meratla received a Bachelor of Science and master’s degree, both in architecture from McGill University.

Based in Miami, Seth Goldman was hired as a managing director. He’ll oversee the development of The Raleigh, which SHVO acquired from Tommy Hilfiger in February 2019. Prior to joining SHVO, Goldman was the director of development at PDS Development in Miami Beach; SVP, The Continuum Company; a project manager at DBI Construction Consultants and a sales manager at Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.

Goldman graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in communications from Ithaca College and a master’s degree in real estate finance from New York University.

SHVO’s New York City projects include Peter Marino’s luxury condominium The Getty in Chelsea; Renzo Piano’s first residential project in the city at 565 Broome; AMAN New York, a hotel and residences to open in 2020 in The Crown Building at 730 Fifth Ave.; and the Mandarin Oriental residences currently being developed.
